Steady roots in Melaka since 2014
Permata began quietly in a small office along Jalan Hang Jebat, started by a pair of advisors who had spent the previous decade watching capable business owners struggle not from lack of effort, but from lack of a clear sounding board. The name — which means "gem" in Malay — reflects that belief: that most small businesses already hold something valuable within them, and often need only careful attention to bring it forward.
In those early years, most of the work happened over coffee and whiteboards. Clients came by word of mouth — a shopkeeper referred by a caterer, a manufacturer introduced by a restaurateur. What each of them shared was a preference for advice that felt human rather than transactional, and for an advisor who would stay engaged rather than disappear after a single report.
That same character has guided how Permata has grown. We have kept our practice deliberately small, because quality of attention matters more to us than breadth of reach. Every client who works with us receives time from an experienced advisor — not a junior staff member working from a checklist.

Siti Hanim Othman
Lead Advisor
Twelve years in small business advisory, with a background in accounting and operations. Siti leads the Tending Partnership engagements and designs the seasonal planning process.
Roslan Nawi
Strategy Advisor
Roslan brings a background in retail and food service operations across Peninsular Malaysia. He focuses on foundation work and helps owners identify what is genuinely worth prioritising.
Faridah Aziz
Client Relations
Faridah manages client care and coordinates between sessions. She ensures that follow-through on agreed steps is tracked and that clients feel supported between engagements.

Everything discussed in a session stays between us and the client. We do not share client information, and we do not use one client's situation as a reference point for another.
Qualified advisors only
All advisory sessions are conducted by advisors with substantive business experience — not recent graduates or trainees. You always know who you are speaking with and what they bring to the conversation.
Clear engagement terms
Scope, schedule and fees are agreed in writing before any engagement begins. There are no add-ons, no surprise charges, and no pressure to extend beyond what was agreed.
