Who is Permata's work best suited for?
We work primarily with small business owners in Malaysia who are managing their own operations — not large enterprises. If you run a business with a small team and want clearer thinking without a high-pressure engagement, we are probably a good fit.
What happens in the Rooting Session?
We spend a few hours together — in person in Melaka or via video — exploring your purpose, your customers and your finances at a high level. You leave with a one-page map of your foundations and a short list of the most useful things to address first. Many owners find it clarifying even when they expected it to be confronting.
Do I need to have my accounts in order before we start?
No. Many of our clients come to us precisely because things feel a little uncertain or disorganised. We work with what you have and help you see where greater clarity would make the most difference.
Can we work together if I am not based in Melaka?
Yes. Most of our sessions can be held via video call, so location is not a barrier. We do occasional in-person sessions for clients in Melaka and the surrounding area, and we can discuss arrangements for other parts of Malaysia on request.
How long before I would see any difference?
Even after a single session, most owners notice they are thinking more clearly about their priorities. Tangible changes in the business depend on what you decide to act on — we can help you identify where small shifts are likely to have a noticeable effect.
What does the Tending Partnership involve month to month?
Each month we meet for a working session — usually 90 minutes — to review what has happened, work through any current concerns and agree on priorities for the month ahead. Every quarter we step back and look at the broader picture. The relationship feels more like having a trusted advisor on call than attending a formal consultancy.
Are there any ongoing commitments after the Rooting Session or Seasonal Planning?
None. The Rooting Session and Seasonal Planning are self-contained engagements. If you later want to continue with the Tending Partnership, we can discuss that separately. There is no automatic renewal or expectation of further work.
